A few helpings of something so epic
I've gotten hooked on this feeling-
Again.
Ahead of my time as always,
I envision a future for all-
And hope.
All I want is the comfort of knowing, that when we get there...
It will be there.
It will.
"we grow, becoming neither better nor worse as we get old, but more like ourselves"
Generation dreamer in a world of ancient scrolls,
Reborn into a world that ages down.
Stripped of the shackles that bind our wings to stone-
The hollow upper hand is ours to take.
Broken from the shadows left to loom in fragile air,
Now free to write the soul as we see fit.
A slave but to our dreams, we live
Not ignorant to truth, we see
With open arms we're naked in the masses.
Meaning never questioned but defined in every breathe.
Energy emitted from a smile within a chest.
A future we'll be proud to preach,
A seamless world where dreamers sleep,
And ever lie-
In peace.
CXXXVIII.
When my love swears that she is made of truth,
I do believe her, though I know she lies,
That she might think me some untutor`d youth,
Unlearned in the world`s false subtleties.
Thus vainly thinking that she thinks me young,
Although she knows my days are past the best,
Simply I credit her false-speaking tongue:
On both sides thus is simple truth suppress`d.
But wherefore says she not she is unjust?
And wherefore say not I that I am old?
O! love`s best habit is in seeming trust,
And age in love loves not to have years told:
Therefore I lie with her, and she with me,
And in our faults by lies we flatter`d be.
